Performance and Engine Options

Nissan Pathfinder: The Nissan Pathfinder rumbles around the city with a stout 3.6-liter V6 with 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque. And for an SUV, that's powerful enough to get this big-bodies automobile up to speed on the highway in no time. Fuel economy checks out at about an EPA-estimated 21/27 MPG city/highway. Here's a few more performance standouts.

  • Up to 6,000 pound towing capacity
  • Intelligent 4x4 System
  • Rock Creek Edition with tuned off-road suspension, all-terrain tires, and a high-output V6 with 295 horsepower

Grand Cherokee:The Grand Cherokee stays true to Chrysler's 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 engine with 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. That's not too shabby, in our opinion. But the fuel economy is lowered a bit to an EPA-estimated 19/26 MPG city/highway. This model is primed more for off-roading, so if you're a city slicker, this might not be the option for you.

  • 6,200 pound towing capacity
  • Available in All-Wheel Drive
  • Trailhawk trim with Quadra-lift air suspension, 11.3 inches of ground clearance, and a sway-bar disconnect

Interior Design and Comfort

Nissan Pathfinder: In the words of Lebron James, "not one, not two, not three…." There's room for eight passengers inside this impressive, thoughtfully designed cabin. Standard cloth seats are cozy and comfortable at the base level with multi-poisition front and front passenger seats. And with an EZ FLEX® second-row seating system and up to 80 cubic feet of cargo room, stowing luggage and gear for long trips is a walk in the park. Well, a drive in the pa-never mind, you get it.

  • Available Semi-Aniline upholstery
  • Available second-row captain's chairs
  • Available panoramic moonroof on all trims
  • Available ventilated front seats

Honda Pilot: The Honda Pilot has room for eight inside the cabin, just like our Nissan Pathfinder. We must admit that the standard heated front seats are a nice touch and mimic the Nissan Pathfinder, but that pretty much rounds out the best features if you don't want to swing for a higher trim. The one-touch 2nd-row seats are a plus, but it's a cheaper version of Nissan's EZ FLEX® system.

  • Availlable leather-trimmed seats
  • Available 2nd row heated seats
  • Available heated and ventilated front seats

Technology and Safety

Nissan Pathfinder: The entry-level trim is well-equipped for even the most tech-hungry folks in the city. And it just might be more than enough for you. The standard 7-inch multi-information display screen and an 8-inch NissanConnect® touchscreen display bring crisp graphics to the front row. Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, and wireless Bluetooth connections come with each trim level for the Nissan Pathfinder, along with a NissanConnect® Wi-Fi Hotspot. Sound good?

  • Available 12.3-inch multi-information display
  • Available 9-inch infotainment screen
  • Available Bose® premium sound
  • Wireless charging pad
  • Nissan Safety Sheild® 360 (automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert)

Kia Telluride: It's another competitor on the market. The Kia Telluride pours a lot into its entry-level model. In regards to technology, drivers will have a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with navigation, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. But that does mean that there isn't much to separate the entry-level model from the top trim. Is that good or bad? We'll let you decide.

  • Available wireless phone charger
  • Available 12.3-inch dual panoramic displays
  • Available Harmon Kardon® premium audio
  • Available auto rain-sensing windshield
